Financial Education
The FreedomQuest Debt Management Program offers financial education to help consumers learn personal budgeting strategies to help them manage their finances. During the initial credit counseling session with Consolidated Credit Counseling Services, you will receive a free debt consultation to determine your financial needs.
If you qualify for the FreedomQuest Debt Management Program, then you’ll receive a comprehensive financial education program that includes:
- All About Credit – an instructional CD that covers the basics of credit. This course will teach you how creditors decide who and how much credit to extend, how interest rates are compounded, and how to make the best use of your credit.
- Budgeting Made Easy – an educational booklet that explains the importance of tracking money, how to create a successful budget, and proven personal budgeting strategies that should help you end the cycle of debt.
- Credit Hell: How to Dig Out of Debt – a book written by financial education expert and certified public accountant, Howard S. Dvorkin that explains the “getting out of debt” process from assessing the state of finances to developing a personal budget. The strategies contained in this book can help you learn how to negotiate with your creditors, how to consolidate your debts, and how to rebuild your finances after your money troubles are over.
- Credit Scoring – an instructional CD that explains how your credit score works. This course discusses how credit scores affect your daily life and how to improve it.
